This work has included the creation of the Survivor Foundation with fellow Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland, a charity established to provide temportary housing for those effected by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Since 2006, Beyoncé has had all-female touring band called Suga Mama who provide the propulsive backing to her amazing songs. Beyoncé has been in a relationship with rap megastar Jay-Z since 2002, although both parties have remained secretive about the union even after the pair married in April 2008 at a ceremony in New York. Beyoncé has stated that the proudest moment of her distinguished career as being singing for Barack and Michelle Obama’s first dance at the inauguration of the President.
